Easy to prepare and ... even though it is an old recipe - it's still a good recipe. Now, obviously you can make your own brown gravy; but being an old school recipe ... I figured I would stick to the original by using a jar or package mix. Where this came from - a small Church Cookbook from years ago. But, I am sure this same recipe is on thousands of websites and in thousands of cookbooks.
This meatloaf is easy to make even for a beginner. It tastes like a giant meatball and is really delicious. My whole family, including my picky eater kids, loved it the first time I made it and it has been requested many times since. I usually make mashed potatoes, a veggie and hot rolls to go with it.
I like to mix beef & pork it has a special flavour. I like to have some gravy with the meat loaf.
This is good! For the top of the meatloaf burgers, your fav BBQ sauce can be subbed for the ketchup
Holiday flavours in a meatloaf
My mom made meatloaf this way. You will have enough for sandwiches next day. This is one of those dishes where it's a squirt of this and a shake of that, so you may need more ketchup or more mustard to your taste. Be careful of the mustard; it's strong.
We enjoyed this meatloaf which was originally printed in Redbook Magazine. The original recipe says to shape the meatloaf into a loaf and cook it on a cookie sheet - I used a loaf pan instead. Served with baked potatoes and cooked carrots -- my idea of a comfort meal! Leftovers make great meatloaf sandwiches.
This is another wonderful " Comfort Food " recipe from Stacky5,who passed away in 2008. Her original description: This is my sister's recipe that was my Mom's favorite as well as my Nana's favorite...Very tasty and really easy to make! My review from 2008: I made this on 10/29/08 for "Stacky5 Cook-A-Thon"and as part of mine and SO's dinner. This is what meatloaf is supposed to...
This is a family recipe we have used for I can't tell you how long - a long time. We have tried others, but this is our favorite.
I like meatloaf with ketchup on top and my SO doesn't,so we compromised, and this is it.If you don't have the loaf pan, use whatever baking dish you have on hand. Also you can free form the meatloaf if you like. If you want a comfort meal, serve with Mashed Potatoes & your favorite green veggie. Submitted to " ZAZZ " on Nov.5th.2013. " Keep Smiling :)
I'm sure Beaver and Wally made it home for dinner every night to watch dear old mom cook this up in a prom dress and pearls. You too can impress your family with a tasty and hearty meal. Just ask Ward!

The original recipe was found in the 1998 edition of Taste of Home's " The Best of Country Cooking ".I did add alot of different ingredients that wasn't in the original, but I still wanted to thank Kim McMurl of Fargo, North Dakota for sending the original into them.Make sure to let meatloaf " rest " for a few minutes, so it won't fall apart when you slice it. When I first started cooking with ground turkey instead of beef, I couldn't get over how different it tasted. The addition of salsa to this recipe gives it added flavour without sacrificing the healthy benefits.
I found this recipe in an old church cookbook. They are quick and easy to make and my kids always loved the idea of having their very own meatloaf on their plate.
This is from someone who used to run an old BBS (remember those?)that had a cooking "echo". I use 1/2 ground beef, and 1/2 ground turkey to make it leaner. Use a commercial canned marinara or make your own. Great with pasta or rice.
My friend Linda sent me this recipe, and it is delicious!
This recipe adds a zing to the word "Meatloaf"! It is sooooooo good! Great with Mexican Rice, and Mexicorn for a delicous meal!
This is DH's favourite meatloaf.
This is about as classic as they come. I admit, I have 3, 4, maybe 5 meatloaf recipes, but this is sort of
A family favorite. The cheese makes these little loaves extremely moist and tender. No one will ever guess that "quick cooking oats" are one of the ingredients!
A meatloaf fit for a king! You could omit the stuffing and just make the meatloaf alone but I can tell you it won't be as good! For some heat add some crushed chili flakes to the beef/pork mixture or hot sauce whichever you like. NOTE: If your using the stuffing mixture and a regular 9x5 pan, your pan will be very full, make sure that you place a baking sheet under your 9x5 pan to catch an...
Easy and tasty served either hot or cold, wonderful sliced cold for a picnic or sandwiches. We have enjoyed this basic meatloaf for many years.Try a change, instead of the usual topping, try your favourite salsa brushed on top, a nice Chipotle medium salsa is wonderful to top it off.
This was my Mom's way with meatloaf, we loved it as kids, especially cold on a picnic with potato salad and all the trimmings. She never used a pan, said she didn't like her meatloaf sitting in it's greese; she always shaped it into a loaf and roasted it on a cookie tray; it was always crunchy on the outside and juicey soft on the inside; fell apart when served hot but was sliced...
These simple meat loaves can be made in muffin cups or small rectangular loaf pans or any other small container of your liking. They are lovely and light. The Piquant Sauce is also excellent on beef meat loaf and meat loaf sandwiches. Feel free to add any herbs/spices you make like.
This is by far the easiest and fastest meatloaf to mix that I've ever made...and those are the kind of recipes I like! The Sweet Mustard Glaze gives them a different taste than the "usual" ketchup-based sauce and they are great to freeze - no slicing required.
This is a tasty meatloaf that is lower in fat than beef. To avoid dry chicken meatloaf don't use white meat, use dark meat instead.
I know what you might be thinking,'Ho Hum, Another meatloaf recipe ". Well your right, but I think the secret ingredient sets this recipe apart from any other meatloaf .Please feel free to adjust any of the seasonings or veggies to suit your own personal tastes. You know how sometimes you accidentally buy something, and then you have to come up with something to use it in? I ended up with two cans of chicken breast in Buffalo sauce from Aldi (I have no idea if it's available elsewhere or not). This actually came out a lot better than I expected, although it's pretty mushy and doesn't really come out in pieces. After it chills it stays...
