Easy to prepare and ... even though it is an old recipe - it's still a good recipe. Now, obviously you can make your own brown gravy; but being an old school recipe ... I figured I would stick to the original by using a jar or package mix. Where this came from - a small Church Cookbook from years ago. But, I am sure this same recipe is on thousands of websites and in thousands of cookbooks.
This meatloaf is easy to make even for a beginner. It tastes like a giant meatball and is really delicious. My whole family, including my picky eater kids, loved it the first time I made it and it has been requested many times since. I usually make mashed potatoes, a veggie and hot rolls to go with it.
I like to mix beef & pork it has a special flavour. I like to have some gravy with the meat loaf.
This is good! For the top of the meatloaf burgers, your fav BBQ sauce can be subbed for the ketchup

My mom made meatloaf this way. You will have enough for sandwiches next day. This is one of those dishes where it's a squirt of this and a shake of that, so you may need more ketchup or more mustard to your taste. Be careful of the mustard; it's strong.
We enjoyed this meatloaf which was originally printed in Redbook Magazine. The original recipe says to shape the meatloaf into a loaf and cook it on a cookie sheet - I used a loaf pan instead. Served with baked potatoes and cooked carrots -- my idea of a comfort meal! Leftovers make great meatloaf sandwiches.

This is a family recipe we have used for I can't tell you how long - a long time. We have tried others, but this is our favorite.
I like meatloaf with ketchup on top and my SO doesn't,so we compromised, and this is it.If you don't have the loaf pan, use whatever baking dish you have on hand. This is from someone who used to run an old BBS (remember those?)that had a cooking "echo". I use 1/2 ground beef, and 1/2 ground turkey to make it leaner. Use a commercial canned marinara or make your own. Great with pasta or rice.
