"Back when we lived in San Diego, Thornton's Champagne Jazz concerts were regularly in our entertainment lineup. Don't ask me to list the artists, because what I remember the most is the amazing Goat Cheese Spread that is served with their fresh bread basket. They're more than willing to share the recipe - and here it is!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and goat cheese.

Step 2

Add the chopped herbs, garlic, and shallots. Stir until well combined.

Step 3

Add salt to your taste, then refrigerate a few hours or overnight for the flavors to fully develop.

Step 4

*Serve with a good crusty bread. I sometimes serve it with crudités, but I thin it first with a bit at a time of milk until it reaches the consistency I want.*

This dip has a really good flavor, I love the fresh herbs in it. I used roasted garlic, and tried it with crudités, crackers, potato chips and a Francese type roll. It was even better after sitting overnight. It is great as is, but I would be curious to try this with the reverse amounts of goat cheese and cream cheese, since I am a big goat cheese fan. I can see why this made it into someone's best of the year recipebook!
