Greek Village Salad (Nick & Marina Makris Horiatiki Salad)

"A recipe from one of our favourite places to eat when in the city - Nickys! This fabulous fresh and delicious Greek Village Salad is an authentic recipe shared by Nick and Marina Makris in a local cookbook. An awesome salad that allows the fresh taste of the ingredients to shine through. I do offer a Greek salad dressing when serving to guests, but find most enjoy the salad as we do with a light drizzle of oil just covering the vegetables. No leftovers with this one!"

Step 1

Cut the tomatoes into small wedges, cube the cucumber, cut red onion into thin wedges, slice green pepper, place into large bowl

Step 2

Add the cubed or crumbled feta cheeses, olives and olive oil and salt to taste

Step 3

I like to add the Italian parsley, toss and top with some of the crumbled cheese

No special items needed.



There is nothing not to like about this salad. It screams Greek and perfect with imported Feta. I added it to a green salad which made it perfect with the olives, tomatoes, onions, etc. We will be enjoying this again for those upcoming summer months. Thank you Gerry for sharing. Subbed vinegar for half the oil and the salad came out superb! Just can't go wrong here.

This Greek Salad is one I will make many more times and both me and my aunt love it! I did use Christy's Greek Dressing in place of the olive oil and it was absolutely delicious! Thank you for sharing it with us Gerry! Linda

Perfect Greek salad, i made it exactly as written except i just made half a recipe for the two of us. Didn't change a thing, loved it with the olive oil and will be making it again, thanks for sharing a delicious version of Greek salad!!

I made this using red bell peppers instead of green and using greek salad dressing and it was divine. Made for the Billboard Recipe Tag game.

Lovely combination of ingredients. I really enjoyed it. I used 3 tablespoons lite Feta, oregano dressing instead of the olive oil. Perfect salad Thanks Gerry
