Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat the oil in a 12 inch skillet, over med-high heat.

Step 2

Add the chicken and cook for 15 minutes, or until well browned on both sides and cooked through.

Step 3

Remove the chicken from the skillet, cover and keep warm.

Step 4

Add the shallots and garlic to the skillet, and cook until they're tender, stirring occasionally.

Step 5

Stir the broth, syrup, mustard and red pepper in the skillet, and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes or until the broth mixture is slightly thickened, and reduced to about 1 cup.

Step 6

Serve with the chicken.

The sauce is the hit of this recipe...it is just so yummy...I served some on the side to dip the moist and tasty chicken in...there was plenty to go around...I made this as posted and wouldn't change a thing...the sauce really didn't reduce that much put we were OK with that...just more to use as a dipping sauce...made for "Bill Board" tag game...

I made this exactly as written and the whole family really enjoyed this recipe. The chicken was moist with lovely flavours from the sauce. A really easy and tasty recipe to make.

I must admit as to how much this surprised me as it was not as sweet as I thought it would be and I am not a sweet eater but that said I think I would still cut back on the maple syrup and up the Dijon mustard and the chili flakes but to me is a matter of taste but the chicken was moist and a pleasure to eat, thank you Sheri, made for Billboard Recipe Tag Game.
