Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oil in the wok.

Step 2

Add onion and stir-fry until golden.

Step 3

Add chicken and stir-fry until browned.

Step 4

Add the garlic, ginger, honey, fish sauce, soy sauce, and five-spice powder.

Step 5

Toss to combine.

Step 6

Cook until chicken is nicely glazed and heated through.

Step 7

Place on serving platter and garnish with cilantro sprigs.

I scaled this back for 1 serve and used 2 skinless boneless thighs removing excess fat and cooked as per recipe and served over rice for lunch and it would have been a very filling meal if I had the chance to eat it all but the DH asked for a taste so I didn't tell him it was thigh meat as he normally wouldn't touch it though I warned there was some onion in it as he has an intolerance to it well his idea of a taste was to eat up about a 1/3 of it and he as now requested I make it again for 2 of us but about 1/2 hour later he requested when I make it no onion as the what he had eaten began to react. Thank you Sue Lau for a delicious lunch and converting my DH to thigh meat. made for Alphabet Tag Game at FF&F.
