Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Step 2

Move 1 oven rack to top (broiling) spot in oven.

Step 3

Place butter in large shallow casserole dish and place in oven to melt while oven is preheating, about 3 minutes; remove from oven and swirl butter to coat dish.

Step 4

Slice eggs into 6-8 slices. (Use an inexpensive egg slicer if available).

Step 5

Starting in center of buttered casserole dish, place egg slices in overlapping pattern arranging out toward edge of dish. Sprinkle with pepper.

Step 6

Sprinkle with cheese.

Step 7

Drizzle milk over top of eggs and cheese.

Step 8

Place in oven on a middle rack.

Step 9

Bake for 5 minutes. Remove dish and turn on broiler to high.

Step 10

Place dish on top oven rack and broil for 2-3 minutes until lightly brown.

Step 11

Watch carefully to avoid burning!

Step 12

Sprinkle with parsley

A new addition to my breakfast for dinner rotation. Very easy and really good. Went great with a ham slice and English muffin. I easily cut it down to two eggs for just me. I can see using other cheeses, too.
