These were a good change from the usual bratwurst dinner for us. The only pretzel rolls they had at the grocery were Kings Hawaiian, and they were rather sweet and soft - so I think this makes a difference, since it wasn't the usual chewy pretzel roll that I love. Used homemade thousand island dressing and it was great with the brat and kraut. Thanks for sharing this unusual recipe!!!

This had mixed reviews...I really enjoyed it...my ??German hubby did not...he felt there was nothing German about it...I had 4 patties so for lunch the next day I cooked him one of the patties and dressed up the sauerkraut the German way and served it with buttered rye bread and mustard on the side...he was happy...I enjoyed another burger made per the recipe...made for "WOTM" tag game...

Very easy delicious burger. My bratwurst were too solid to shape into patties so I cut the sausages in half and went from there. I added a slice of sweet onion. Loved my Saturday night burger.

I love burgers and was so excited to try this one. It was so delicious! The dressing made it taste so good and the sauerkraut was so good with the bratwurst. I didn't use patties, I used the sausages instead. No biggie, I just cut them in half and fried them then used 2 whole brats in one sandwich. The roll was chewy and everything was oozing out the sides, so it was a little messy, but worth all the drips. Yummy to my tummy!
