I have made more than my fair share of cucumber salads, this is a first using water and sugar. Seeing Bergy's photo I couldn't resist giving it a try. As your previous reviewers I agree it's a great summer salad. I enjoyed it as posted as well as with a dollop of sour cream. This is one that will be seeing to repeats.

This was really good...the chef told me to add a dollop of sour I added 1 1/2 helped cut the tartness of the another reviewer I used splenda in place of the sugar...very easy and tasty...great side dish for a hot summer day...made for FYC tag game...

I've had similar salad but without the sugar - good way to cut down the sharpness of the vinegar yet allow all the flavor to shine! I used splenda instead of real sugar.

I used red salad onions with this recipe, everything else was as per recipe. This looked so pretty with the red salad onions, and was such a lovely salad, sweet yet tangy and so refreshingly cool and delicious on such a warm night. Everyone gobbled it up here, and loved it.
