Step 1

In a saucepan, saute mushrooms with onions in butter until mushrooms are tender. Add garlic, saute for about 1 minutes or until soft.

Step 2

Add flour, stirring until blended; cook over medium heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Step 3

Blend in tomato paste and salt; stir in wine and stock until well-blended.

Step 4

Add pepper. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 5

Adjust seasonings if necessary.

The most perfect sauce to top our grilled steaks. It added so much flavor to our meal. I even topped my mashed potatoes with it! Yum!

Dippity Du Da Deb

I made this as a topper for a roast I cooked on the grill and it was super delicious! I will use it again real soon on other meats including steak, chicken, and pork.

We loved the flavors of this mushroom dish...I cut the recipe in half and it made the perfect amount for two...the wine is what give this the yummy flavor...made for "Alphabet" tag game...
