This was a real treat...the hubby and I both really enjoyed it...I did cut back on the amount of milk...I used 1/4 cup...and only one banana...it didn't say how much syrup so I just added what looked like a good amount...I left my bread out on the counter so it would be stale in the morning...I see Kato Baby beat me to the review...made for "Alphabet" tag game at FFF

KATO BABY

Wonderful, I loved this simple french toast. It was so good, so much flavor and it had a great texture. I really enjoyed the way that the banana flavor enhances the maple syrup. It had a deep dark banana flavor. Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe that I will eat again. Made for Alphabet Tag

Fun facts:

This recipe is a variation of the classic French Toast dish, which dates back to the Roman Empire. It was originally made with a mixture of milk, honey and pepper.

Vanilla extract was a favorite of Queen Elizabeth I of England, who would add it to her desserts and drinks. She even kept a bottle of it in her pocket for a sweet aroma.
