"My daughter recently asked me to show her how to make my tomato and cabbage soup. This soup was something I just usually tossed together and never measured until she came over and we made it together. It is a hearty, warm your innards kinda soup we enjoy in the fall and winter. This soup freezes well so I like to freeze it in individual portions for quick work lunches."

I couldn't resist trying a family recipe for a Tomato and Cabbage Soup, so happy I got out the scale. Love cabbage soup, thoroughly enjoyed and added to my Soup Cookbook. I can well see why your daughter wanted the recipe. Love cabbage soups and loved the combination of spices. Looking forward to making this with garden fresh tomatoes, this round I subbed with a 28 ounce can of tomatoes, after weighing I basically went with a generous cup each of the carrots and celery resulting in a great tasting supper soup. Looking forward to enjoying more of the same from my freezer stash.

I really liked the broth on this soup. The ginger and allspice were a nice surprise. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
