"This is a recipe I came up with to serve to DH and his buddies one evening; they were enjoyed by all and requested quite often now. These ARE nice and spicy. Meatballs not included in the nutritional facts."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Pour can of jellied cranberry sauce into a bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute, just to soften.

Step 2

Add remaining ingredients, except for meatballs and stir well.

Step 3

Pour half the mixture into a 4 quart crock-pot and add meatballs.

Step 4

Pour remaining sauce over meatballs.

Step 5

Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Burned the midnight oil last night. Needing some easy/great tasting recipes for the long weekend which is also a 'birthday weekend' at our house, had me make up half a recipe to check the flavours. It was as good as I thought it would be. Love party meatballs made with cranberry sauce, especially loved this spiced up version. Remains I have still to find the ground chipotle ground pepper. Used a little chipotle sauce which worked well for me. These will be on the weekend menu for sure.
