Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place the chicken in a large re-sealable freezer bag.

Step 2

Add 1 cup beer, salt, brown sugar and garlic powder to the bag and swish together; marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

Step 3

Remove the chicken from marinade and rinse well.

Step 4

Pat dry and set aside.

Step 5

Mix together 1/4 cup BBQ sauce and 2 tablespoons beer and slather over chicken pieces (I toss all this together in a plastic bag).

Step 6

Place the chicken pieces in the smoker and smoke for 2 1/2 hours at 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 7

Take the chicken out of the smoker and brush with 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce.

Step 8

Enjoy!

I have a small smoker and my chicken was cooked to perfection following the time in the recipe. Such great tasting chicken with juice dripping from the meat as we cut into it. We seriously loved the chicken smoked and will make it again during the fall. We enjoyed it very much!
