Step 1: Place the chicken in a large re-sealable freezer bag.
Step 2: Add 1 cup beer, salt, brown sugar and garlic powder to the bag and swish together; marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
Step 3: Remove the chicken from marinade and rinse well.
Step 4: Pat dry and set aside.
Step 5: Mix together 1/4 cup BBQ sauce and 2 tablespoons beer and slather over chicken pieces (I toss all this together in a plastic bag).
Step 6: Place the chicken pieces in the smoker and smoke for 2 1/2 hours at 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 7: Take the chicken out of the smoker and brush with 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce.
Step 8: Enjoy!
