"From the over 60's site - Sizzler restaurants have been around a long time here in Australia but in the last 10 years have diminished due to economic problems and well the writing is on the wall for them it so seems but staff gave the secret recipe of the iconic toast to Over Sixties site and here it is - a soft white toast which is only toasted on one side and topped with a buttery, cheesy and salty taste. served to every diner no matter if your order of the menu or just have the salad bar only option. The recipe does not state quantities only ingredients so have estimated the amount for one slice of bread."

I loved this bread. I think I used more cheese than stated but I would do that again.

What a tasty treat...it does taste just like Sizzler Toast...I doubled the recipe and it was the perfect amount...I used thick sliced sourdough bread...the bottom was so soft while the top had a nice toasted crust on it...I cooked mine on the grill while cooking the rest of our dinner...I covered the toast with a steel bowl...and cooked them off of direct heat...loved it...made for "Players Favorites) tag game...

Love the concept of toasting the bred in a skillet. It gave it a really nice crunch to the outside while keeping the inside nice and tender. I increased this recipe to compensate for using a whole baguette that I cut diagonally. The family and I loved it very much! Thank you, Pat for sharing. Made it for Players Favorites - 5 Star GemsI

Made for the FYC Tag Game - Since your recipe had been reviewed "as written", I wanted to expand it slightly & use it w/a bread variety. So I made a "big" batch using 2T each of butter & Parmesan & then added 2 cloves of fork-smashed roasted garlic. I lightly sprayed a non-stick skillet w/an Icelandic "PAM-like product" & pan-grilled 2 flatbread halves, 2 baguette roll halves & 2 bagel halves. They all looked lovely & tasted even better when eaten w/our lasagna meal. This will be repeated, Pat, & I'll plan to take pics then, so thx for sharing the recipe w/us. :-)

This tasted good. A little different to Sizzler but still great. I think the secret is using a thick bread for this recipe. I find it stuck to the pan a little so I had to watch it carefully.

Another yummy recipe, Pat. I made this with Texas Toast and served it alongside your Corn Chowder Soup. Both were hits at my house. So simple and good. Thanks for sharing. Made for FYC tag.
