Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat over to 375 degrees.

Step 2

In medium skillet, brown meat till done. Drain meat well then return to skillet

Step 3

Add taco seasoning and blend well.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine broth and flour. Add to meat mixture and bring to boil to slightly thicken liquid.

Step 5

Stir in sour cream and chilies, blend well

Step 6

Lightly grease a 13 X 9 inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 7

Pour half of the bag of chips in the bottom and press down to flatten. Top with half the meat mixture.

Step 8

Next layer with half of the cheese.

Step 9

Next layer half the onions.

Step 10

Repeat layers ending with the onion.

Step 11

Bake uncovered in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes.

Step 12

Let stand 5 minutes before serving

Delicious! I made the taco seasoning mix as I can control the amount of salt, and used homemade chicken broth (no salt) and this was perfect for us! For my oven, I found that 20 minutes in the oven made this a wee bit on the dry side. So will adjust next time. I know my family will love this. Thank you for sharing kberry!
