Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (93%)
  • 1 package (1 1/4 ounce) taco seasoning mix
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup low-fat sour cream
  • 2 cans (7 ounce) green chilies, diced
  • 1 package (11 ounce) corn tortilla chips
  • 2 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese (or 2 cups cheddar cheese)
  • 1 cup green onion, sliced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat over to 375 degrees.

  • Step 2: In medium skillet, brown meat till done. Drain meat well then return to skillet

  • Step 3: Add taco seasoning and blend well.

  • Step 4: In a small bowl, combine broth and flour. Add to meat mixture and bring to boil to slightly thicken liquid.

  • Step 5: Stir in sour cream and chilies, blend well

  • Step 6: Lightly grease a 13 X 9 inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.

  • Step 7: Pour half of the bag of chips in the bottom and press down to flatten. Top with half the meat mixture.

  • Step 8: Next layer with half of the cheese.

  • Step 9: Next layer half the onions.

  • Step 10: Repeat layers ending with the onion.

  • Step 11: Bake uncovered in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes.

  • Step 12: Let stand 5 minutes before serving
