"Baking time will determine the heat in the peppers. A longer baking time yields a milder jalapeno flavor."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together all ingredients except jalapenos. I leave out the salt depending on how salty the bacon is.

Step 2

Pack cheese mixture into jalapeno halves rounding the top.

Step 3

Place on baking sheet. Use parchment paper for easier clean up. Bake at 325 degrees, 20 minutes for hot. 30 minutes for medium. 40 minutes for mild. The peppers will loose hotness the longer they cook.

I made these for one of our appy nights...we did fine them a bit on the dry side...you would think with all the cheese that they would be gooey...either the bread crumbs sucked out the gooiness or I should have let them cook longer...we enjoy the heat so cooked for 20 minutes...maybe the 30-40 minutes would have given them the gooey texture we were missing...overall tasted yummy...made for "What's On The Menu" tag game...

Made for a great Curling weekend appetiser. Jalapenos always go over in a big way at our house - and these were extra good. Made as posted and wouldn't change a thing, they are a real party pleaser!
