Step by Step Method
Step 1
Crust:
Step 2
Mix melted butter, powdered sugar, salt and flour.
Step 3
Pat into a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Step 4
Bake 20 minutes in 350 degrees F oven.
Filling
Step 5
Cream together butter with 1 cup sugar.
Step 6
Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step 7
Add lemon juice and vanilla.
Step 8
Add flour, salt and cream cheese.
Step 9
Cream until smooth.
Step 10
In another bowl, whip egg whites, gradually adding 1/3 c sugar.
Step 11
Fold into egg yolk mixture.
Step 12
Pour into ‘half-baked” crust.
Step 13
Bake in 350 degree oven 30-45 minutes.
Step 14
Test with knife to see if it comes out clean.
Step 15
Cool.
Step 16
Dust with powdered sugar.
Step 17
Cut into small squares.
