Step by Step Method

Step 1

Arrange an oven rack in the lower third of the oven and preheat the broiler.

Step 2

Toss the chicken with the vegetable and sesame oil and sprinkle with the salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

Arrange the chicken on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet. Broil the chicken, turning after 10 minutes, until the chicken is golden brown, crisp and cooked through, about 15 minutes

Step 4

While wings are in the oven combine the vinegar and crushed red pepper in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the honey, hoisin and soy sauce. Pour into an extra-large bowl

Step 5

Add the chicken to the bowl and toss with the honey glaze. Transfer the chicken to a platter and garnish with the scallions and sesame seeds

I scaled the recipe back for 8 V wings (tips already cut of) and instead of broiling/grilling I baked them in a 175C fan forced oven for 45 minutes, I also heated up the sauce after whisking up the honey etc. into the oil just before pouring over the wings and the DM and I enjoyed thoroughly with some fried rice. Thank you CheffJeff.

OH YUM ! These are wonderful chicken wings, hoisin is one of our favourite flavours, these were perfect with a nice bit of heat. Just one thing missing, sorry i forgot the green onion and seseme seed garnish, we were so hungry just looking at them!!! Sorry the garnish is still sitting on the counter.:( will definately be making these again with the garnish, thanks for sharing a keeper!
