Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium high heat combine first 8 ingredients (-ginger) and bring to a boil and then simmer for 20-25 minutes or until reduced by half and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and discard garlic.

Step 2

Soak 6-8 wooden skews and then preheat grill or grill pan.

Step 3

In a bowl soak the brussels sprouts in water for 5 minutes; drain and toss with the oil and salt.

Step 4

Arrange the brussels sprouts on skewers with cut sides facing the same direction. Place cut side down on grill and cook for a few minutes (3-5) on grill on 5-8 in a grill pan, biting with sauce after a minute or so; turn and grill the other side for about 2 minutes or until cooked through.

Step 5

Transfer sprouts to a platter and brush with sauce; sprinkle with the furikake and cilantro.

Love how the brussell sprouts are grilled, which is a really nice way of making them! I'm so used to having sprouts roasted and I will include them in my summer cooking from now on. I followed the recipe, except that I didn't discard the garlic and didn't use the Furilkake, which is normally not an ingredient in my pantry. Thank you ellie for sharing. Made if for Billboard Tag.
