Step 1

Rinse the sprouts and trim off the stems. Cut an "X" into the base of each sprout. Steam the sprouts for 7 to 10 minutes over boiling water. (Do not overcook.)

Step 2

In a saucepan, slowly melt the butter, stir in the lemon juice and mustard. Add the well-drained, cooked sprouts and toss.

Step 3

Top with lemon zest and serve immediately.

This is now my favorite way to enjoy Brussels sprouts!! This is quick and easy to put together and company worthy too. I cut mine in half because they were very large. Thx for sharing this recipe here Mikekey :-)

We love brussels sprouts and use this recipe often - it's great!! Lemon and mustard are favorite family flavors. I had posted a similar recipe many years ago on another website, but included a crumb topping: Sautee 1 cup of bread crumbs in 2Tbsp butter until golden. Sprinkle over cooked brussels sprouts with lemon zest - enjoy!. Thanks Mikekey - so glad that you posted it here on Zazz!

5 star all the way. I love easy & tasty and this recipe meets that criteria. Will be made often. I am not crazy about sprouts but I love this recipe.17 Sept 17. Made again nd enjoyed even more!
