Step 1

Combine Cheddar cheese, apple, olives, and mayonnaise in a medium bowl, and stir well.

Step 2

Spread cheese mixture evenly on 1 side of 4 slices of bread to within 1/4-inch of edges.

Step 3

Top with remaining bread slices; brush top slices of bread with melted butter, and invert onto a hot griddle. Immediately brush other sides of sandwiches with melted butter; cook over medium heat until golden.

Step 4

Turn sandwiches, and brown other sides.
