Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese (sharp, 1 cup)
  • 1 cup apples, finely chopped (cooking apple)
  • 1/3 cup pimiento-stuffed olives (minced)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 9 ounces bread slices (8 slices white or whole wheat)
  • Melted butter or margarine

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine Cheddar cheese, apple, olives, and mayonnaise in a medium bowl, and stir well.

  • Step 2: Spread cheese mixture evenly on 1 side of 4 slices of bread to within 1/4-inch of edges.

  • Step 3: Top with remaining bread slices; brush top slices of bread with melted butter, and invert onto a hot griddle. Immediately brush other sides of sandwiches with melted butter; cook over medium heat until golden.

  • Step 4: Turn sandwiches, and brown other sides.
