Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat oven to 375 degrees F.

Put bacon grease into pan and heat while mixing bread.

In bowl whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and cornmeal.

Add cheese and onions.

Beat together milk and egg.
Step 6
Pour into dry ingredients.
Step 7
Beat together.
Step 8
Tilt pan with grease so entire bottom is covered.
Step 9
Pour batter into the very hot bacon grease.
Step 10
Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
