  • 1/4 cup green onions, minced

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Put bacon grease into pan and heat while mixing bread.

  • Step 3: In bowl whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder and cornmeal.

  • Step 4: Add cheese and onions.

  • Step 5: Beat together milk and egg.

  • Step 6: Pour into dry ingredients.

  • Step 7: Beat together.

  • Step 8: Tilt pan with grease so entire bottom is covered.

  • Step 9: Pour batter into the very hot bacon grease.

  • Step 10: Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
