Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Spray a large cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Also grease a large 13x9-inch disposable foil pan.

Step 3

Place the wings on the baking sheet. Season the wings with garlic salt and pepper on both sides.

Step 4

Bake for 15 minutes (baking the wings first will remove some of the fat and liquid that will cause the glaze to get watery and thin).

Step 5

Meanwhile combine the oil with soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and cornstarch; whisk until completely combined, then whisk in honey until combined.

Step 6

After the 15 minute baking time, using tongs transfer the wings to the disposable foil pan. Pour the honey sauce over the wings the using your hands or a wooden spoon toss to coat the wings in the sauce, then spread out the wings as best you can (metal tongs or a spoon may tear the foil).

Step 7

Place the wings back in the oven. Bake for another 30-35 minutes (the sauce should be caramelized and the wings should be very tender).

Step 8

Transfer the wings to a large bowl, pour the remaining sauce from the pan over the wings, then toss the wings.

Step 9

Serve and enjoy with a ton of napkins!

Absolutely delicious. I did the initial 15 minute bake but forgot to oil the alfoil so my wings did stick. I removed them from the pan and then put a double layer of foil in the pan to do the next stage and they came out perfectly cooked, moist tender and totally delicious. Thank you Silvie, made for Alphabet Soup tag game.

Silvie I just used your sauce for cubed chicken that I browned in a skillet first and then added in the sauce, the sauce is the best, I'll use it many more times for many different recipes, it has just the right flavor and texture, I urge everyone to try it!
