Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together Catalina dressing, apricot jam, onion soup mix, and red pepper flakes if you want a spicier dinner.

Step 2

Spray inside of crockpot with Pam cooking spray.

Step 3

Lay chicken breasts in crockpot.

Step 4

Pour Catalina dressing mixture over chicken.

Step 5

Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours.

Step 6

Mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water.

Step 7

Stir into liquid in crockpot and cover and cook another 15 minutes

I made this for Best of 2022 tag game. The sauce is delicious. I'm not sure if it was my chicken or my slow-cooker, but my chicken turned out a little bit dry. I would decrease the cooking time. I served over rice, and the sauce is great with rice!

My family and I enjoyed this simple dish this weekend. I made a homemade Catalina Dressing and we enjoyed the sauce over the chicken. It was a good meal that was even better because it cooked while we could leisurely be together without scurrying for getting dinner ready. Thanks for sharing, Dee.

Oh my goodness, this is one delicious dish. It's quite easy to prepare, too. I wish I had served some white rice on the side, because the pan sauce is really good and would be great spooned over rice to keep it flavored and moistened. Next time I'll definitely have rice on hand for that purpose. Thanks, dienia b. We loved it!
