"From a feature of 7 recipes in 7 days in our local Saturday paper which uses up left over ham. Would be great with tomato soup for a light meal. Just having one now for lunch, seriously good."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

On the slices of the bread smear the mild mustard and then top that with the ham, tomato slices and then the cheese and season well with the salt and pepper.

Step 2

If you have a sandwich toaster or Panini grill cook them in that until golden brown and the cheese have started to melt.

Step 3

If not, smear the outsides with a little butter and fry in a dry pan over a moderate heat until golden on both sides.

Step 4

Cut in half and serve with some salad green.

Yummy sandwich. I used mozzarella cheese, otherwise made as directed. Thanks for sharing this nice recipe, Pat.

This sandwich is very good and easy to make. I used sour dough bread, omitted the salt, and browned on the stove. Loved the tang from the mustard and the tomatoes were nice to have on the sandwich. Served our sandwiches with LindasBusyKitchen's http://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/creamy-tomato-soup-20175 and enjoyed a wonderful weekend lunch. Will be having this sandwich and soup combo again soon! Made and reviewed for the Pick Me! recipe tag game.

Loved this for a quick dinner after work tonight. Made as written but I used smoked ham, so next time a reminder to myself not too use salt, if I use smoked ham. Loved this tonight and so did DH. Quick easy and sooooooo tasty.
