Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375F.
Step 2
In bowl, combine flour, onions, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper and caraway seeds. Combine buttermilk, oil, 1/2 cheese and egg.

Pour over dry ingredients and stir just until moistened.
Step 4
Spoon into 8 greased or paper-lined muffin cups. Sprinkle remaining cheese evenly over tops.
Step 5
Bake in center of oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden and firm to the touch.

Let cool in pan on rack for 5 minutes.
