Step 1

Bring a pot of water to a boil.

Step 2

While water is boiling remove and discard outer leaves of brussels sprouts and cut a cross in the root end of each brussels sprout.

Step 3

Boil sprouts for 5-10 minutes. Drain.

Step 4

Melt butter in skillet until golden brown. Remove from heat.

Step 5

Stir in sprouts with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6

Sprinkle with nuts.

Just the right added touch. I love a recipe that I can partially do ahead and then finish just before serving. I prepared and cooked the sprouts hours before dinner - 15 minutes before serving did the final steps. Delicious New Year Dinner 2016 Made again and enjoyed just as much.
