Step by Step Method

Step 1

To make the sauce: place the shallot, garlic, tomato paste mixture, red wine vinegar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a screw top jar, cover with the lid, and shake vigorously until well blended.

Step 2

Rinse the chicken drumsticks and pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3

Place the drumsticks in a large oven proof dish, pour over the sauce, and let stand for at least 2 hours, in the refrigerator, occasionally spooning the sauce over the chicken.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 375°F/190°C.

Step 5

Cook the chicken drumsticks in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until thoroughly cooked.

Step 6

Spoon the sauce over the chicken or turn the chicken over during cooking.

Step 7

Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with chopped parsley.

The hubby was very happy with his lunch of these bbq drumsticks. I did add some himalayan salt and fresh ground pepper along with the parsley while resting in the fridge. Doubled the sauce ingredients because the hubby likes to dip and it was perfect. Love that it was easy to make and had so much flavor. Next time I am going to put a couple chicken breast in the baking dish for me! Thank you so much for sharing this delicious recipe with us. Made and reviewed for the Alphabet Tag game.

Currently drumsticks are a real bargain so I'm trying new recipes for them. This recipe is lovely! I used a very large clove of garlic. I'll be making this recipe again soon.

Juicy tender chicken! I used 9 legs and there was plenty of marinade which I thickened and drizzled over the legs. Will add some herbage next time I make them. I have another pack of legs justa waitin'! Thanks for sharing with us Teresa! Made for Pick Me! tag game

Very good chicken even though we skipped the shallot but added a bunch of onion powder. Used the same amount of marinade on 6 drumsticks and it would probably have worked for more chicken too. Served with tossed salad for a very easy dinner! Thanks for sharing!

I used what we call a Maryland cut (chicken and thigh which I disjointed) and then made as per recipe though leaving the skin on for 1 serve and the end result was very flavoursome and oh so tender chicken thank you TeresaS made for For Your Consideration tag game on FF&F.
