Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a bowl whisk together first 5 ingredients (-baking powder) and then whisk in 1/2 cup cold water. Add wanna slices and stir to coat.
Step 2
Pour enough into a large saucepan to reach a depth of 1-1/2 inches and attach a deep fry thermometer to side of and heat oil to 350 degrees F. Working in batches add 3 or 4 banana slices to oil and cook until golden brown (under 5 minutes). Using a slotted spoon transfers fritters to paper towels to drain. Sift powdered sugar over bananas. Serve with ice cream if desired.
