Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a bowl whisk together first 5 ingredients (-baking powder) and then whisk in 1/2 cup cold water. Add wanna slices and stir to coat.

Step 2

Pour enough into a large saucepan to reach a depth of 1-1/2 inches and attach a deep fry thermometer to side of and heat oil to 350 degrees F. Working in batches add 3 or 4 banana slices to oil and cook until golden brown (under 5 minutes). Using a slotted spoon transfers fritters to paper towels to drain. Sift powdered sugar over bananas. Serve with ice cream if desired.

Oh goodness, these fritters came out Excellent! Wonderfully tasty fried morsels filled with banana yum. They turned out puffy and ever so good sprinkled with confectioners sugar or maple syrup or both. Made a great breakfast item. The hubs was in heaven! Thank you, ellie, for sharing.
