"Okay, I get it. There's nothing radically new about the combo of a bagel w/cream cheese & smoked salmon. I've loved it for a lifetime, even in my Dallas days before I came to Iceland. BUT this recipe found at goodfooddotcomdotau took the combo a step toward bliss for me by adding a caper salsa that my Dallas roots could not ignore. ENJOY!"

Step 1
Combine the salsa ingredients (onion thru olive oil) in a bowl & stir to combine. Set aside.
Step 2
Halve & lightly toast the bagels. Spread each half w/2 tbsp of cream cheese & then top w/the sliced salmon.
Step 3
Pile the salsa mixture atop the salmon & serve. (A wedge of avocado would be an optional, but excellent garnish)
Step 4
HINT: The "never fail" way to get those lovely uniform & thin smoked salmon slices is to freeze the salmon & then use your sharpest knife to shave the thin slices. :-)
