"An updated recipe from one I had posted at another site, that has been revised through the years. Was originally from From "Foods with a Foreign Flavor" textbook, Contributed by E. Ruth Yelvington, Corsicana, Texas. You can use your favorite grated cheese if you can't find smoked Cheddar."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Step 2
Sift together dry ingredients.
Step 3
Cut in butter with a pastry cutter or fork.
Step 4
Stir in grated cheese.
Step 5
Combine egg yolk and milk with a fork; add to the dry mixture.
Step 6
Continue stirring with a fork until a stiff dough forms.
Step 7
Turn out onto a lightly-floured board and roll out until 1/8-inch thick.
Step 8
Cut into biscuit rounds.
Step 9
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Step 10
Bake 7-8 minutes, until tops of biscuits are lightly browned.
