"Chicken burgers have a reputation for being dry and not very tasty, not these this is an awesome recipe for chicken burgers! Since these only make 4 small burgers I always double amounts when I make them, also chicken patties are refrigerated 6 hours or 24 hours before cooking, also the mayo sauce is made ahead."

Step by Step Method

FOR THE BURGERS

Step 1

In a large bowl, gently mix ground chicken, mayonnaise, both cheeses, garlic and Montreal Seasoning. Form into 4 burgers about 3/4 in. thick, making a slight depression in center of each patty (this helps keep burgers flat as they cook). Put on a plate,, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 6 hours or longer.

FOR THE MAYO TOPPING

Step 2

In a blender, whirl mayonnaise, basil, lemon juice, and lemon zest together, add salt & pepper and garlic powder, refrigerate until ready to use.

TO GRILL THE BURGERS

Step 3

When your ready to grill the chicken burgers: Prepare a charcoal or gas grill for medium heat (350° to 450°; you can hold your hand 5 in. above cooking grate only 5 to 7 seconds). Using a silicone brush or oiled paper towels, lightly oil cooking grate.

Step 4

Grill burgers, covered, turning once, seasoning each side with a little more La Grille chicken seasoning while grilling. Grill until browned and no longer pink inside (cut to test or use a meat thermometer, 8 to 10 minutes total.

Step 5

Transfer burgers to a clean plate.

Step 6

Place buns, cut sides down, on grill until lightly browned, 30 seconds.

TO ASSEMBLE THE BURGERS

Step 7

Spread toasted sides of buns with basil mayonnaise. Set a chicken patty on each bun bottom and top each with 2 strips bacon, a tomato slice, and a lettuce leaf. Cover with bun top. Enjoy!

Tips

  • Outdoor grill
  • Meat thermometer

These burgers truly are REALLY Delicious! I couldn't find the La Grille Montreal for chicken seasoning so I substituted with regular Montreal Seasoning. The rest I followed verbatim. A keeper that I will make again for sure. Thank you SillySally for sharing. Made it for Think Pink.

The title says it all - this is a REALLY good chicken burger & the basil mayo tops it off. Goes right up there ar the top of my favorite chicken burger. I pan fried and you have to be very careful not to burn the burger - I cooked it on medium. We loved the flavour & texture of this burger. You'll see this made again
