Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large skillet or dutch oven, heat oil and butter.

Step 2

Add onion, celery, pepper and mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, wine, herbs, garlic and sugar.

Step 4

Bring to a boil; reduce heat and cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Step 5

Add turkey, cover and simmer until heated.

Step 6

Serve over pasta of your choice and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

This is a must make for caricature lovers. I didn't happen to have red wine on hand but there will be next times for this recipe. I suspect it would be equally good with chicken. Was great over pasta as well as in rice bowls.

This is really good and a great way to use up turkey. I made as directed just skipping the pepper and using water instead of wine. Served over rotini. Delicious! Thanks for sharing!
