Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat up your grill. Medium heat for a gas grill. For a charcoal grill, the chops will be over medium coals- 4 to 6 inches from the heat.

Step 2

Get out a small bowl. Reserve 2 teaspoons of the taco mix and set it aside. Place the rest of the mix in a bowl, adding in 1 tablespoon of the lime juice and all the honey. Mix it together.

Step 3

Brush this mixture on the pork chops, covering both sides. You may discard anything left over.

Step 4

Set the pork chops on the grill, directly over the heat. Cook them 8 to 10 minutes, or until slightly pink in the middle of each chop. Turn them once or twice while grilling.

Step 5

While they're grilling, get out a small bowl and mix the avocado, 2 teaspoons of seasoning mix, and the other 1 tablespoon lime juice. Mix till almost smooth.

Step 6

Place the avocado mixture on top of the chops when ready to serve. Sprinkle cilantro over the top of everything.

Tips

  • You need a gas or charcoal grill.

Even though our avocado was bad and we didn't use it...we really enjoyed the flavors that these chops brought out...the meat came out nice and moist and I used all of the mixture to coat the chops...it was a perfect amount of spice...made for "Only the Lonely" tag game...

I scaled back for one port chop and cooked in the frypan putting on the rub as per recipe but when it came to the avocado I decided to make that into guacamole using recipe https://www.recipezazz.com/recipe/guacamole-for-1-or-2-9293 Guacamole for 1 or 2 and the two together made for a great dinner. The pork chop had wonderful flavour and was so tender I was almost wishing I had a second one if I could have fitted it in that is. Thank you WhatamIgonnaeatnext for a great dinner, made for For Your Consideration tag game at FF&F.
