"These wings are a Philippine appetizer, that you will really enjoy if you love sweet and spicy. You can, of course, have them as a meal with your favorite sides. I found this recipe online and adapted it to my liking, and I hope you will love them as much as I do! The sauce makes just enough glaze for 2 pounds of chicken wings, so if you want more sauce for dipping your wings, double the glaze. The whole recipe can be doubled or tripled easily for feeding a crowd."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Glaze: In a small saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic, chilies, red pepper flakes, and bay leaves. Saute 1-2 minutes until the garlic just starts to brown.
Step 2
Add vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar and black pepper, and stir to combine.
Step 3
Bring sauce to a boil, then reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until sauce starts to reduce and thickens a little. When slightly thickened, remove from stove and cover.
Step 4
Cooking The Wings: Add the canola oil to a large skillet to reach 1 inch deep. Heat over medium-high heat, until oil reaches 350-375 degrees F.
Step 5
Add wings to skillet. Cook for 8-10 minutes until wings are golden brown. When done drain on paper towels.
Step 6
Transfer the wings in a large bowl.
Step 7
Pour the glaze over the chicken wings and toss well, to coat.
Step 8
Pick out the bay leaves and serve immediately.
