"From my Mother in Law; This dish is not only a great crowd pleaser, it's what my husband wants for his birthday. The sausage is optional, but it really makes the dish. By slicing the sausage in different lengths, you create visual interest. "

Made your recipe with but one change ~ I left out the sausage because the homemade pasta sauce that I used had both mild & sweet Italian sausage in it! Loved these very tasty shells & look forward to making them again for company sometime soon! Absolutely delicious!
