Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 pound small curd cottage cheese, drained well
  • 1 pound fresh mozzerella cheese, divided
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (dried is okay)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmasean cheese
  • 4 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 12 ounces large pasta shells
  • 1 pound hot sausage (pork), cooked until browned (optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Cook pasta shells according to package directions.

  • Step 3: Mix together cottage cheese, 1/2 pound mozzerella (diced), eggs, salt, pepper, parsley.

  • Step 4: Fill shells with this mixture, careful to not overstuff.

  • Step 5: Place about 1/2 cup pasta sauce on bottom of 9X12 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.

  • Step 6: Place prepared shells on top of sauce. Slice sausage into 1 to 2 inch slices (on the diagonal) and place here and there between the pasta shells.

  • Step 7: Drizzle with remaining pasta sauce and top with remaining mozzerella cheese (thinly sliced) and sprinkle with parmasaen cheese.

  • Step 8: Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

  • Step 9: Uncover (carefully) and continue to bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
