"This my favourite way to cook ribs, they always turn out so good. The meat just falls off the bone. If gluten intolerant make sure you are using gluten free beer and BBQ sauce."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Light one side of barbecue and leave at high heat.

Step 2

Remove the white membrane from the back side of the ribs with a sharp knife.

Step 3

Cut the racks into portion sizes, about 4-6 ribs each.

Step 4

Place ribs back side down into a baking pan.

Step 5

Pour the beer over the ribs and toss in the crushed garlic cloves.

Step 6

Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7

Cover with foil and place on barbecue over indirect heat.

Step 8

Cook for at least 1 hour or more, (Depending on thickness) this steams the ribs and makes the meat very tender.

Step 9

Once you have steamed them to the desired doneness, remove the pan from barbecue.

Step 10

Brush both sides of ribs with BBQ sauce and place the ribs directly on lit side of the grill.

Step 11

Reduce heat to medium high and cook until you have nice char marks on each side and keep basting with sauce.

Step 12

Enjoy!

Loving variety sees to another recipe for Grilled Ribs added to my Family Cookbook! Other than being a touch short on the garlic the day of making they were wonderfully garlicy. I seasoned with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper finishing off with Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. A great method for doing ribs Bea! Delicious!!

Great way to make ribs!! I have been steaming my ribs since I can remember making them, but always just used water and then seasoned the ribs with salt, pepper and garlic powder and occasionally added some onion slices. I cooked mine for about 2 hours, talk about falling off the bone. I then let them set-up for a bit, before adding back on the heat/grill. I used "Montgomery Inn" BBQ sauce and these were so good. I served them with some red skinned taters and corn on the cob, delish!! Thanks for sharing a great recipe.

I have been using my grill more than my smoker this summer and couldn't pass up the opportunity to make ribs your way. Delicious!

I love the ease of this! I was licking my fingers as I was eating, and my husband started doing the same. Make sure you have lots of paper towels ready! Delicious ribs!

These were very well enjoyed by all in my family QueenBea! I wound up "steaming" the ribs in the oven because my charcoal grill just wasn't behaving but I then finished it over the charcoals which gave it a smokey flavor. I used a homemade chipotle barbecue sauce that brought these ribs over the top good. What a great recipe QueenBea! Thank you very much for sharing.
