Spicy Italian Burgers With Mixed Peppers

"This is a quick, easy to make burger that is loaded with flavor. I use ready made hot Italian sausage with the casings removed shaped into 3 patties. If your preference is less spicy buy the mild sausage. If you prefer smaller patties make 4."

Step 1

Divide the sausage meat in 3 equal parts and form into patties.

Step 2

Mix your prepared vegetables together.

Step 3

Lightly spray a large skillet with oil.

Step 4

Over high heat brown one side of the burgers.

Step 5

Flip the burgers and add all the vegetables to the pan, cover, lower heat to medium.

Step 6

Give the vegetables a stir a few times and flip the burgers once angain. Place the lid back on.

Step 7

Cook for approximately 15 minutes or until the burgers are cooked (internal temperature 160f).

Step 8

Place each burger on a bun with their share of the vegetables. Add any condiments that you like - perhaps some parmesan cheese, lettuce, sliced tomato - Enjoy.

These burgers are awesome! I made them with Jimmy Dean's hot sausage roll for the sausage. They were spicy but just right for us with the peppers and onions etc. I served them in some French bread rolls and they couldn't have been better. A squirt or two of ketchup and I was gobbling it up!
