"This simple Southern version of Macaroni and Cheese is sure to please even the picky eaters in the family. Kids and adults love its gooey creamy cheesy texture and taste. This is served at most gatherings and parties in our Southern homes and is a comfort food loved by all. I have heard from others you can use low fat versions of everything, but I can't guarantee how it will come out. Try it at your own risk."

Very Nice Mac & Cheese recipe! I made a full recipe with Barilla Plus penne pasta which I had one hand, cheddar/jack cheese, butter and fresh ground black pepper. The only thing I didn't like was that most of the butter ended up greasy on the bottom of the baking dish. Made for the Billboard recipe tag game.

I made a half recipe and also made a couple of changes to this to suit my eating plan. I used whole wheat pasta, spelt flour and low fat American cheese to make it healthier and more diabetic friendly. It came out really good too! It was ooey gooey, creamy, cheesy delicious goodness in every bite! I thank you for sharing your southern mac n cheese with us. Linda
