" The combination of smoked chop, kraut, apples and potatoe is heavenly. This is real comfort food. Have your potatoes cooked ahead of time. I leave the casserole in the oven for a full hour and a bit more sometimes. Use honey mustard if you prefer. "

Step 1
In a lightly oil sprayed baking dish layer, in this order, half of the apple sauce,then the sauerkraut and finally the potatoes
Step 2
Season with pepper
Step 3
Spread a tablespoon of mustard on one side of each chop and lay them, mustard side down, on top of the potato layer.
Step 4
Spread the top of the chops with the remaining mustard
Step 5
Add remaining applesauce, sauerkraut with the potatoes as the top layer
Step 6
Tightly seal the dish with foil Bake in 375f oven for 45 minutes. If you wish remove the foil for the last 15 minutes to brown the potatoes
