  • When selecting jalapeno peppers, choose ones that are firm, bright green, and free of blemishes.
  • Be sure to use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.

  • Substitute 2 cloves of garlic with 2 cloves of roasted garlic for a sweeter and more mellow flavor. The benefit of this substitution is that the roasted garlic will provide a more mellowed flavor than the raw garlic, making it more suitable for those who don't like a strong garlic flavor.
  • Substitute the jalapeno peppers with 2 bell peppers for a milder flavor. The benefit of this substitution is that it will make the salsa more mild and suitable for those who don't like spicy food.

Tropical Salsa Replace the tomatoes with two mangos, peeled and diced. Add 1/4 cup of diced pineapple and 1/4 cup of diced papaya. Omit the jalapenos for a milder salsa.

Fruit Salsa Replace the tomatoes with two kiwis, peeled and diced. Add 1/4 cup of diced strawberries and 1/4 cup of diced oranges. Omit the jalapenos for a milder salsa.
