Step by Step Method

Step 1

Leave chicken whole.

Step 2

Wash chicken, drain and pat dry.

Step 3

Mix tarragon and garlic together.

Step 4

Sprinkle mixed seasonings inside cavity of chicken and over the outside.

Step 5

Place chicken in crock pot, breast side up.

Step 6

Pour broth into crock pot

Step 7

Sprinkle rest of seasoning mix over the chicken.

Step 8

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

Step 9

TO MAKE GRAVY Remove chicken from crock and keep warm.

Step 10

Add thickening to thicken gravy to desired thickness.

Step 11

OVEN DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 12

Put chicken in roasting pan.

Step 13

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until chicken is golden and juices run clear.

Step 14

Use broth to make gravy following directions above.
