Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 whole chicken ( about 4 pounds)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can low sodium chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons dried tarragon leaves crushed
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Leave chicken whole.

  • Step 2: Wash chicken, drain and pat dry.

  • Step 3: Mix tarragon and garlic together.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle mixed seasonings inside cavity of chicken and over the outside.

  • Step 5: Place chicken in crock pot, breast side up.

  • Step 6: Pour broth into crock pot

  • Step 7: Sprinkle rest of seasoning mix over the chicken.

  • Step 8: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

  • Step 9: TO MAKE GRAVY Remove chicken from crock and keep warm.

  • Step 10: Add thickening to thicken gravy to desired thickness.

  • Step 11: OVEN DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 12: Put chicken in roasting pan.

  • Step 13: Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until chicken is golden and juices run clear.

  • Step 14: Use broth to make gravy following directions above.
