Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.

Step 2

Place apples evenly into 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish.

Step 3

Mix the 1 cup white sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle over apples.

Step 4

Mix (topping) oats, brown sugar and flour until blended well. Stir in melted butter until fully moistened.

Step 5

Cover apples evenly with topping.

Step 6

Place in preheated oven and bake 35-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Serve hot or cold, alone or with ice cream and ENJOY!!

I scaled this back for 2 serves and used 3 small granny smith apples and as I was making ahead I squeezed a little lemon juice on the apples to prevent them from going brown and I halved the amount of the sugars as we don't like overly sweet and it is a better option dietary wise for us. The topping came out beautifully crisp and the apples just tender with just a tiny bit of bite left in them, thank you to your Aunt Bev Under15Cook for a great dessert, made for Pick Me tag game.
