Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine soy sauce, Italian dressing, hot sauce, garlic powder, and chicken wings in a large, zip-top bag. Close bag and refrigerate 4 hours to overnight.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, melt the butter and all sauce ingredients until hot, stirring making sure sugar is dissolved. Turn off heat and reserve.

Step 3

Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat.

Step 4

Remove the chicken wings from the marinade shake off marinade. Cook the wings on the preheated grill, turning occasionally, until the chicken is well browned and no longer pink and skin is crisp and blistered, approximately 25 to 30 minutes (the length of time all depends on each particular level of grill/heat). Keep a watchful eye so as not to have the wings burn.

Step 5

Place grilled wings in a large bowl. Pour buffalo sauce over wings; toss to mix well. (We sometimes serve the sauce on the side along with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks - this helps the wings retain it's blistery crispness).

Step 6

Serve hot and enjoy.

We really liked these wings. We did use the full amount (1/2 cup) of brown sugar, grilled the wings for about 30 minutes and added the sauce on top. We all enjoyed the wings. Thanks for sharing this easy wing recipe.

I cut the recipe down to 2 servings...we loved the flavor...but we both were a bit disappointed that the buffalo sauce made the crispy wings soggy...I grilled them for 35 minutes...they looked crispy...but they didn't hold up to the sauce...and there was plenty of sauce...made for FYC tag game...
